Kate Counihan returned to her home town Tralee in 2015 to join the family orthodontic business after completing her specialty training in orthodontics in Queen Mary University of London and the Royal London Hospital. Kate completed her undergraduate studies in dentistry in University College Cork from 2002-2007 before working in a variety of hospital and community posts in Edinburgh and Trinity College Dublin. Kate then set sail on her world travels taking in some voluntary work in Peru and Cambodia and positions in the University of Queensland, Brisbane and private practice in Australia. While completing her specialty training in London, Kate was awarded the 'Jim Moss academic prize' for distinction in her masters thesis and the 'British Orthodontic Society M'Orth cases prize' for her clinical work. Kate has published a number of papers and presented at local and national conferences. Kate has a special interest in the digital orthodontic workflow and skeletal temporary anchorage devices.

Niamh Mcauliffe, a native of Castleisland, graduated with an honours degree from Cork Dental School in 2001, winning the Orthodontic Society of Ireland medal in her final year. Following her graduation she completed a year of vocational training in dentistry in Cavan/Monaghan. She then worked as a senior house officer for two years in South Wales at Cardiff Dental Hospital and Prince Charles Hospital spending time in a number of departments including the departments of restorative dentistry and periodontology, preventive and paediatric dentistry, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. In 2003 she completed her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Niamh undertook her specialist orthodontic training at Liverpool University Dental Hospital, and she also worked in the Orthodontic department at Halton General Hospital. She attained her Membership in Orthodontics with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2007 and also achieved a distinction in her Master in Dental Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of Liverpool in 2007. Niamh has published a number of papers in dental journals and has given presentations at dental and orthodontic conferences. She is also a member of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland.
